Floyd Mayweather has had his own share of boxing matches since he started with the sport. Remaining undefeated in 50 of 50 games, it is no surprise that he would start seeking out new challenges.
Just before the year wraps up, he is set to step into the ring again – this time in Japan, and against an MMA fighter.
This would not be the first time that he has made such a decision to fight someone outside the boxing realm. That and a couple of other reasons are why this fight is sure going to be an interesting one. Follow us as we bring you all the juicy details.
Despite the initial back and forth between the two parties involved in the fight, it has now been confirmed that the matchup will take place on the 31st of December. This will be just the perfect way to end the year, signing off yet another successful year for both fighters.
As of now, it has also been confirmed that the fight will be taking place in Japan. Given that it is a promotional game aimed at taking Japanese MMA to the world, the choice of location could not have been more apt.
Who are the fighters?
Floyd Mayweather might be the popular man for you, but Tenshin Nasukawa is also a force to be reckoned with in his home country.
Mayweather has been the stellar champion of the boxing world, taking on 50 professional fights and losing none in the process. He has even gone head to head with Connor McGregor – another fighter from the MMA – and taken all the spoils from that game too.
His amazing run has seen him record no fewer than 27 KOs in all.
On the other business end of things, though, Nasukawa is no slacker too. He might have seen a fewer 27 games, but his 20 KOs signify that he is not here to play. He also matches the Money Man in the fact that he has never lost a single match in his entire career.
This makes the game even more interesting – given as it is a contest of two champions, albeit from different worlds.
What to expect?
Mayweather has a wealth of experience to call upon when he steps into the ring against Nasukawa. He has also faced off against a top fighter from the MMA before, so this won’t be new territory for him.
We expect Nasukawa to put up a good fight. But then, without his tools – such as the deadly kicks that he has come to be known for – he won’t be able to do too much of a damage. That also puts the odds in favor of Mayweather who would be fighting in entirely familiar territory.
How to watch the game
US and UK residents, as well as many other parts of the world, are expected to get blackouts from the game. It will only be distributed in Japan when the fight is going on, and for obvious reasons. This means those outside the target market will have to wait many hours to get access to the same game.
If you want to beat that, you can get the Mayweather vs Nasukawa live stream by:
- Buying a VPN subscription
- Connecting to a Japanese server location (to use Fuji TV)/ US server location (to use Fite TV)
- Purchasing the game and
- Enjoying it as soon as it goes live
Fite TV is the best option for English-speaking countries who want to keep track of everything that is being said as the game is going on. You can also get the game for free if you use the Fuji TV trial package.
Any which way, you will now be able to get the games no matter where you are in the world.
